Trombetta of Sport&Salute Basilicata and his friendship with Minibasket in Piazza

Among the various sponsorships and collaborations that “Minibasket in Piazza” can boast, there is one with Sport & Health. The representative for the Basilicata region is Matteo Trombetta. We also had a chat with him, always revolving around the orbit of “Minibasket in Piazza”.

“When the Government authority decided to develop sports practice differently, it entrusted Sport & Health with the task of making sports accessible to everyone. Not surprisingly, all our projects have a basic address, sports for all! Therefore, sports for everyone means giving everyone the opportunity to practice sports, to approach sports practice, and in any case, to live in the shadow of sports practice. This is because it’s not just the basic activity that needs to be promoted, but it’s the sport that also looks at social, gender, and racial diversity, and the psychomotor difficulties of less fortunate people.

So inclusion is another important moment for which Sport & Health fights to make sports accessible to everyone. When we were asked to sponsor and give the Sport & Health logo to “Minibasket in Piazza”, we didn’t hesitate: I acted as the intermediary with the national direction because, knowing the people, knowing the activity, I could testify to the goodness of the activities themselves and the people and purposes they have been pursuing with this type of activity for decades. So I immediately gave my consent for the national committee to sponsor this beautiful event in the city of Matera. An event that has succeeded and has managed to rise from the ashes, because we must not forget that two years in oblivion are still difficult to rebuild, to bring this event of great importance back to its former glory, and the organizing committee succeeded in the endeavor.

They succeeded because they doubled the number of attendees compared to last year.

But returning to the event, which in itself promotes basic activity, promotes sports tourism, creates twinning and inclusion, creates brotherhood among peoples, and allows not only the city of Matera but the entire territory of Basilicata and Puglia to shine. So what better showcase than the “Minibasket in Piazza” Tournament of Matera can be made available to national sports? I – Trombetta continues – believe so much in this sports reality; of course, the basketball world will benefit more from these benefits.

We will be able to show how inclusive and hospitable the Lucanian people are, and this goes far beyond any expectation that an institution like ours can imagine.

Finally, the best wishes that are customary for every event, but it’s difficult to find for “Minibasket in Piazza” a wish that can serve to grow and improve the activity, which is now added to exponential levels.

A big good luck to Pielle Matera, and to all the staff who manage to involve, for what they do, because seeing the courts set up in the historic center, in the main streets of the city, makes me imagine how hard all the staff works and how respectable the organization is, which then brings the dawn all ready for the mini athletes from all over the world.

So best wishes to everyone, best wishes to the president, best wishes to all the organizers, to the staff, to the collaborators, and best wishes for a pleasant stay and a good time in the city of Matera, in the land of Basilicata, to all those who have decided to participate in this beautiful and splendid event.

I’ll add a detail: Sport & Health wants to provide not only the logo and the sponsorship for this event but also to make available a testimonial, what we call the “Legends,” gold medalists of world competitions or Olympics.

This is to make it clear how much weight Sport & Health gives to this type of activity and to the promotion of the sport that these important, excellent, tireless leaders of Pielle Matera, our Basilicata, the city of Matera, and the basketball world aspire to.”
