Thursday, June 22nd, will kick off with a morning session involving the Armed Forces followed by the fourth day of matches.

On the fourth day of the 31st edition of the International “Minibasket in Piazza” Tournament, all participants, the young athletes from around the world, were welcomed at the Matera Police Headquarters, the Carabinieri Command, and the Fire Brigade.

The delegations from Amman, Kotor, Rignano, and Anzio were hosted at the Police Headquarters, where the children experienced firsthand the various activities involved in territorial control, such as using machines and tablets connected to the central command. They also visited the Forensic Science office to learn about fingerprint detection methods and concluded the visit at the police vehicle park, where they were impressed by the many specialized and armored vehicles.

Meanwhile, the firefighters explained their role through a demonstration of fire extinguishing, during which the children had the opportunity to operate the water pump, putting out fires, and even playing with it.

Lastly, the Carabinieri showcased the vehicles they use during their work hours, and the young athletes even got to ride on their cars and motorcycles.

After the morning activities and lunch, the afternoon saw the eighth-final matches, including a fiercely contested game between the teams from Prague and Padova. The match went into overtime, and Padova emerged victorious from the Golden Basket with a 2-point lead.
