The organizational machinery of the 31st edition of our International Tournament “Minibasket in Piazza” has been in motion for some time now. The basketball festival par excellence of Matera’s summer, Italian, and even international, will involve a total of 48 teams representing four continents for this 2023 edition. Matera, and beyond, for a week, from June 18th to 24th, will be the center of youth basketball activity.
The joyfulness of the mini basketball players will bring life, color, and warmth to the various courts set up for the games, entertaining girls and boys aged between ten and eleven years old who will animate this 2023 edition of “Minibasket in Piazza.”
The big news this year is that “Minibasket in Piazza” will be supported by FIBA Europe, FIP, CONI, and Sport e Salute along with the patronage of the Ministry of the Interior, the Basilicata Region, the Municipality of Matera, the Matera Prefecture, the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza, State Police, Carabinieri, and Firefighters. Indeed, among the various initiatives involving the young basketball players, there will also be exciting visits to the headquarters of the Law Enforcement Agencies.
