In a packed “Mandela” hall, the press conference for the presentation of the XXXI edition of the International Tournament “Minibasket in Piazza “, Memorial Carmine Nuzzaci, took place.
Taking part in the meeting with journalists were Vice Police Chief Adriana Cappena, Mayor of Matera Domenico Bennardi, Francesco Massaro representing the Municipality of Santeramo, Giovanni Cotrufo, Luciano Cotrufo, and Ilaria Martinelli from the Organizing Committee.
During the meeting, the winners of the graphic contest related to the Tournament were awarded (one child from each participating school). The children presented drawings on the theme “In a period of heated conflicts, Minibasket in Piazza launches the challenge: children of the world against wars for Peace.”
Throughout the conference, all the tournament’s novelties, participating teams, projects, and collateral activities were outlined because Miibasket in Piazza is not just a mini basketball tournament but a platform to teach today’s children, the future adults, about healthy coexistence and respect for others.
